Virtual Forest Collection

How to Import the files.

So... you've got the CD, and now you want to use these trees...

No problem. Here's a quick tutorial that will help you get the files imported into Bryce.

  1. Make sure the Virtual Forest CD is in your main CD drive. Most of the time, this is your D: or E: drive.
  2. Start Bryce.
  3. Once Bryce completes loading, open the "Create" presets window, as shown below.

This loads the Object Presets folder.
  4. Select the folder where you wish to store your files (I personally use the 'Rocks & Trees' folder).

  5. Once the 'Rocks & Trees' folder opens, select the "Import" option at the bottom of the window:

  6. Within the "Open" window, navigate to your CD drive:

     and open the 'files' folder:

Select the obp file you wish to import. You can see what each file looks like by viewing the Virtual Forest Gallery.
  7. Once your file has been selected, Bryce will import the file, and probably place the import at the bottom of the window. This depends on several factors, but if you've followed these steps exactly, it will be at the bottom of the 'Rocks & Trees' folder.
  8. Last, click on the checkmark in the bottom-right corner of the window, and your selection is added to your Bryce scene:

  9. From here, you can scale and position as necessary for the desired results.
